I have been researching the Debo (Deboe) family now for more than 50 years, from the first immigrants, Philip, Abraham, and Anna Debo (Dubo) in Lancaster (Lebanon, Berks) County, Pennsylvania, to its scatter into Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri, Texas, etc. I have perhaps more information regarding this old Huguenot family than anyone in the United States, and am in the processing of writing a book on the family, including all I have of this 50-year project. Some of the branches of the family are fairly sparse because of lack of data, but much of it is of pertinent detail. My particular branch descends from Philip (1), his son Philip (2), Michael, his son John, my great-grandfather Cornelius, my grandfather Lilbon, and my father William Clyde Debo, who is still alive at age 98. Philip (2) brought his family down the Shenandoah Valley in 1788 and settled in Pittsylvania County, VA. Michael, his son, moved over into adjoining Bedford County, VA where he reared a large family. After the War Between the States, his son John's family dispersed to Missouri and Texas. I am of this tribe.
