My name is David Charles Debusschere. My parents are Robert Alphonse Debusschere and Pauline Marie Renard. I have three sisters: Michelle (Lee);Nicole (Nichols);Andrea (Thompkins).
I was born in 1969, Michelle in 1971, Nicole and Andrea in 1973 (twins). We were all born in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, Canada.
My father, Robert, was born in 1943 in St. Boniface, Manitoba at the St. Boniface General Hospital. He resides with my mother in Portage la Prairie.
My grandfather was Charles Rene Debusschere. He was born in Torhout, Belgium on February 10, 1900.
His parents were Eduoard Debusschere (b. Feb. 1873) and Leonie Casier. Eduoard had two brothers and possibly a sister: Franciscus, Rene, and Nathalie.
Edouard's parents were Charles Louis Debusschere and Malanie Bolle.
It is believed that while living in Belgium Eduoard worked as a farmer's helper, and possibly briefly in France as well.
In 1913 or 1914 Eduoard moved to Forget, Saskatchewan, Canada, where he farmed his own land. His wife and children were to follow in 1915. Charles, Paul, Nathalie, Francis, Marie and their mother Leonie travelled 3rd class across the Atlantic on a ship called Nieuw Amsterdam. They joined Eduoard in Forget.
Leonie died in Forget in 1931.
Eduoard moved to Haywood, Manitoba with Charles and his wife, Marie Louise Durupt in the mid 1930's.
Eduoard died in Haywood on June 29, 1943, at the age of 71.
