My name is Deborah Louise Burgin Kenmir, I married Patrick Henry Kenmir in May of 1973. It wasn't until the last five yrs that I really got interested in family history. On the Burgin side I got as far back as John Jacob Bergan and his wife Jacobea, they came to the U.S. from Switzerland. They had several children that came with them from Switzerland. My great grandfater Rudolph Burgin was among them, he married LaVenchia "lucenthia" Wetmore (Whitmore)There are different spellings to her name and I haven't been able to find any of her family line. My grandfather was Clifford D. Burgin he married Eleanor Madsen, They had four children, my dad Rudolph J Burgin named after his grandfather. He married my mother Elizabeth Sally Rich and they had six children. Jensen, Lytle, Prescott, Davis, in my family history among other names. My mom's family is from the Tennesse, Arkansas area. I believe her mom was all Irish, I was told my granfather David A. Rich was English and Cherokee Indian. My husband Patrick's family came from Norway, Bohemia, Luxembourg and Ireland. Pat's grandfather was Ivan George Ostrem, his dad's name was Joesph Ivan Ostrem, he never knew his dad so when he was 18 yrs old and before he went into the Navy he changed his last name to his stepdads last name which was Kenmir. Pat's granmother on his mom;s side was Edith (Peggy)Magdalen Molyneaux, her family was from Ireland and I was told that there is royalty in that side of the family. She married Henry Schwinden, Henry's fathers family is from Luxenbourg, his mother's family came from Norway and their last name was Hanson, her maiden name was Anderson. I find this all fascinating, I have learned alot and hope to learn more. I am doing this to pass down a legacy to my daughter Erica and to possibly learn more about my family history by others who read it.
