The Deck Ranch of Jack County, TX Updated January 8, 2001
About Our Family Research
I have been researching our family history for about four years with the help of family members, Bibles, family research books, and the Internet I have been able to take our family back many generations. I started out researching both my family and my husband's family, I really did not realize how involved it would be but I feel that I have a good record of most of our lines. Many of them have gone back to the 1600,1500, and some 1400s. I even have one verified back to 1000.
In 1999 I decided that I would write a book about our family history for my children to have. I worked on it until November of 2000 when I had it printed and bound for them as a Christmas present. I gave each of our three children and our five grandchildren a copy. I also gave our four siblings and two surviving uncles copies. Everyone seemed to really appreciate it.
We live on a ranch about fifteen miles from town in a metal two story house that we built ourselves. It took us about a year to build and we are very proud of our ranch and home. Our children are all grown and have families but they along with their children seem to really enjoy coming to the country to visit. It is a wonderful retired life that we are blessed with.
Deck Ranch House (30 KB) This is our ranch home. We built it in 1991 ourselves. It took us a year to build and it was another year before we were able to move to the ranch. It is situated about in the center of our ranch in a little valley, there are lots of huge oak trees around it and a beautiful view of the mountains.
