My name is Juan Jose de Celis, son of Manuel de Celis Seisdedos and Vitoria Hernandez Benito de de Celis.I was born in the 19th day of September in 1963,in Buenos Aires,Argentina. My parents came to live to Argentina almost 40 years ago. They were born in the Villarino de los Aires village,Salamanca province(Castilla y Leon region),in SPAIN.Nowadays we have family in both countries.I'd like to know more about the surname "de Celis"and its origin in Spain.I know by means of a report received some time ago that" de Celis "is an italian surname according to "The Historical research Center"of USA.On the other hand, taking into consideration other one of a genealogy institute of Argentina, this is a CASTELLANO surname that had its origin in Santander ( Cantabria),SPAIN.Through INTERNET I found out there's a lot of people bearing this surname around the world, mainly in SPAIN ,USA,MEXICO,ARGENTINA AND ITALY.Till what I know all of my ancestors were born in Salamanca,SPAIN ,at least ,till my great grandson. My thought is that most likely this surname origin is italian, but then came to Spain and then spread to North America and South America, and from these places to the rest of world.I'like so much to receive or mail information about the origin of this surname in SPAIN,from or to anyone around the world.Thanks.JUAN JOSE de CELIS.
