I am currently researching my family tree. The Gesualdo (Americanized to Jeswald) family (my paternal Grandfather)is well researched and relatively famous (the 16th century composer Don Carlo Gesualdo's work can be found in any classical music store) and I know a great deal about the Mauro family (my paternal Grandmother) due to their well-kept records and even visits to the ancestral home. However, my mother's side of my family is a different story. Her parents were Calvin Walsh and Myra Catherine Carpenter, both of Virginia. That is it; I have no other information except a rumor that "Carpenter" was a corruption on the French "Carpentier". Both names are so common it's laughable. I know my Mother's family moved to Richmond, VA from Lynchburg, VA about 70 years ago. The family had a devestating house fire and lost all photos and records. Unfortunately, most of the older relations have passed. Wish me luck and please contact me if you can help!
