The Stapleton's, Nelson's & Salyer's of Kentucky Updated February 9, 2004
About Our Family Research
I have been working on our family roots since 1985 and became more serious about it since 1995. I've contacted some relatives on the internet and it's exciting to find someone related to me. I need to spend more time on my search, but since I lost both my parents in 1998 and 1999, I've been somewhat slower about working on our family roots. But I'm determined to find out every thing I can about our family history. I've attended the Stapleton reunion given for the George Stapleton family line in W. Va. and that has helped me understand how important this job is. As I make progress, I'll undate this page.
My research of Hayden and Mae (Nelson) Stapleton has been a slow one, especially on the Nelson side. I only have a few names on my grandmother's family. I know her mother was Laura Redwine, and she was married to George W. Nelson. Some of them were from Greenup Kentucky, and Oldtown, Greenup County.
