My family originates from Senerchia, Italy but settled in Nice, France after WW I. My father, Ernesto Pasquale del Giudice, was born in Nice in 1906. My grandfather Alessandro was born in 1884 in Senerchia. He married my grandmother, Maria PARRA, before going without his wife and child to the US (in 1907) with friends and cousins. (He is on the Ellis Island Records, shown as traveling on the Germania.) He stayed for a few years in the United States and then returned to Senerchia. Some cousins of mine must still be living in NYC or Chicago, but I don't know them.
ALL MY ANCESTORS WERE BORN IN SENERCHIA
Alessandro had at least one brother and one sister. They were :
* Rosaria (born in 1872) and
* Antonio (born in 1875.
Alessandro married Maria PARRA (1886-1974), daughter of Marco PARRA (b. ca 1846- ) and Rosa TRIMARCO (b. ca 1847).
Alessandro was the son of Michele DEL GIUDICE (1839-1890) who married Alessandro's mother, Caterina ONESTO (b. ca 1843), in 1875.
Michele's father was called Antonio (born ca 1799) who married Anna COZZI (born ca 1813).
Caterina ONESTO was the daughter of Giovanni ONESTO (born C.1808) and Rachella DI MARCO (born ca 1811). She had a sister called Filomena (born in 1841) and maybe a brother called Angelo Michele (born ca 1838)
The DEL GIUDICE family is enormous now, all over the world, but if anyone knows anything about my particular branch I would appreciate any further information.
