This home page has been made to help aide me in the research of my family and its history. My name is Michael Delich, son of Joseph and Nancee Delich, grandson to the deceased Joseph P. Delich and Ann K. Delich. From what I have been told by my father and aunt's, my family migrated over to American sometime around the turn of the century. They came from a town in present day Croatia called Lika, in the Krajina region. Even though I am only 1/2 a serb, my paternal heritage is 100% Serbian. I do not know much about my Great Aunts or Great Uncles. I know that my grandfather, Joseph Peter Delich, had many brothers and sisters. There is one though, that I have a good knowledge of. His name was Michael Delich. He was born in Lika, migrated over to the states with his family, and eventually joined the merchant marine. During World War II he served his country with honor as a Merchant Marine. He eventually died in 1942. His final resting place is a couple days out from Murmansk, Russia where his ship went down with all hands. My grandfather had 6 other brother and sisters. After Michael came George, born in Lika also. Then came Violet, Rade, Joseph, Mildred, Angie, and Daniel (Duke), all born in Chicago, IL. If anyone has any information that can be of service to me, I would greatly appreciate the help.
