The Del Bene family geneology has included work done previously by predecessors of several branches of the tree. This legacy was left for us, we just had to find the material in various repositories within our extended family. A good bit of work was done through interviews with ageing, now gone, members of several branches. It was done at a time, about 15 years ago, and with no direct purpose except to satisfy an itch to hear more about our family. The sketchy outlines, and note about each recalled member turned out to be extremely valuable when we started, seriously, to pursue the family lineage about 2 years ago. We have used the local LDS Church library for much of our information. Lucky to find that the Del Bene's in my geneology come from Palena, Italy. Records from that City have been well preserved and from 1800 to 1900 someone had photographed and archived them in the vaults of the LDS Church in Salt Lake City. What a blessing that has been.
Concurrently, through family members remaining we have collected, scanned and archived about 100 pictures, a few from the late 1800's. The next job is to link the pictures to the persons' profile.
I would be interested in hearing from anyone who knows of the family Del Bene of Palena, Schilero of Sicily, Barbone of Salerno, Hardee's of S.C.
