The Dempewolf's in our line came from Germany in the 1800's and migrated to Baltimore, Md. and the to New York City,Bronx, Mount Vernon, Bronxville, New York, then some moved back to Md. and then to Virginia.
The Dempewolf's married with the Feldman's of maryland. Henry Feldman owned a Cigar Factory in Baltimore. Otto Dempewolf was a piano maker, working for Knabe Piano Company in Baltimore, Md.
William Dempewolf married Margaret Wiegand in the early 1900's. Margaret Wiegand's father was John Wiegand, from Wuertemburg, Germany. He was born in 1866 and died in New York in 1951. He used to baby sit for me when I was young. John Wiegand migrated to New York in 1893. His wife, Helene Laub migrated to New York in 1895. Margaret Wiegand was born in 1895 in New York. She died in 1954 in New York. Margaret's first marriage which ended in divorce, was to a Nilsson. She had 3 daughters with him, Margaret, Edna, and Helen.
