I began researching information on my grandfather Flanders S Clayman of Bristol, Tenn. Thanks to input from a cousin I previously had not know, we have information back to Jonathan or Johnathan Clayman born in 1760. I also found that part of the family tree spells their name Claman. I am trying to find any other information that might give me the national origin of the family.

  This tree shows descendents of Johnathan Clayman born in 1760. He is the original known ancestor and settled in Sullivan County, Tenn. He bought 140 acres outside Bristol, Tenn called Clayman Ridge or Hollow which is still owned by a descendent today.

  Picture is of my Grandfather and Grandmother Clayman taken in their back yard in Bristol, Tenn around 1963.
