About Our Family Research

Welcome one and all to my home page. This is the first time I have done this so read with an open mind. I am a member of the US Army. I have a wife, Diana Lee Simmons, of 12 years. We also have three wonderfull children. It all started in August 1990 when I joined the Oregon National Guard. I went to basic training at Ft. Benning, Georgia. I was assigned to D Company, 1st Battalion, 38th Infantry. I graduated with honors in November of 1990. I was then assigned to the Oregon Guard in Grants Pass, Oregon. I joined the active Army in October 1992 and was first assigned to Ft. Lewis, Washington. In 1993 I was transfered to Ft. Polk, Louisianna. This is where my first two kids were born. I was alerted and deployed to Haiti in 1995 to take part in Operation Restore Democracy. After returning from Haiti, I was transfered to South Korea. In 1996 I was transfered to Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. Next, I was transfered to Ft. Benning, Georgia again to serve as a Drill Sergeant and this is where my third child was born. Finally I have been stationed in beautiful Hawaii since April 2002. I am on my way to Iraq and will updated this page when I return. My father is Bruce DeMarco. His brothers are Eric, and Jeff. His father is Wilton. Wilton is a wonderful man who has brought honor to this family and his actions have always reflected great credit upon his name and his off spring. My son Anthony is the name bearer for now. I can only hope he has many boys. My awards and decoration include the Meritorious Servie Medal x1, Army Comendation Medal x3, Army Acheivment Medal x8, Armed Forces Service Medal x1, Good Conduct Medal x4, National Defense Service Medal x2, United Nations Medal x1, Over Seas Service Ribbon x2, NCOES Ribbon x3, Army Service Ribbon x1, Expert Infantryman's Badge, Airborne wings, Air Assault wings, Drill Sergeant ID Badge, and Expert Marksmanship Badge. I am a Sergeant First Class in the Infantry. My Military Occupational Skill is 11B4XPP5. I have attended more schools with the Army and Marine Corps then I can list on this page. There are many members of my family who have served with honor in all branches of service. Legend has it that we are related to royalty and you can read about that on my uncle Jeff's page at the Manner's Family Tree. I'm a decendant to John Manners and you can find most of the information about our family, past to present, there. Well, I guess it's about time I update this page. I was in Iraq from 21 JAN 04 to 19 FEB 05. I earned the Combat Infantryman's Badge, 3 different combat patches and a Bronze Star. I live in Columbia, MO now and work as an ROTC instructor. My Grandfather, Wilton, passed away in January 2005 and we all miss him. My wife and children are all doing great and wonderful. That's about it for now.
