I started my family history in southwest Missouri with my father's family (DEMERY). My grandfather's history took me to Putnam County, Missouri where I discovered two generations of ancestors and many cousins with the name of DEMRY. My Gr-Gr-Grandfather who migrated to Missouri had come from Loudoun County, Virginia through Sangamon County, Illinois. I then went to Loudoun County, and found three generations, William, father Peter and Grandfather John, all of which went by the name of DEMORY. John was born ca 1741, died 1806, married to Margaret. Their son Peter was born ca 1768, died 1843, buried at Old Ebenezer Church Cemetery in northwest Loudoun County, married to Mary F.(?), who is buried in the same cemetery. Their son William was born ca 1790, married to Rebecca (?). Their son Amos migrated to Illinois, then to northern Missouri. I have approximately 1100 names of descendants in the family so far.
