 Includes NotesNotes for Samuel Parsons:
East Hampton Records mention Samuel in many places. In 1662/3 it was decided to divide the Town into three districts for the cutting-in of whales, this occupation being very important here; Samuel Parson served as Town Trustee and Constable. It was Samuel whose name is on the deed for Montauk, when the Point was bought from the Indians. Samuel Parsons risked his neck, together with others in East Hampton, when he signed a protest about lands sent to Governor Dongan October 6 1686, and again in 1689 when Samuel Mulford, Samuel Parsons and Thomas Chatfield sent a "narration of ye grievances" to Governor Jacob Leisler.
