Stiles [Jiles] Tourje (son of Philip Tourje and Desireé Bump) was born May 06, 1788 in Saratoga Co., NY523, and died Dec 22, 1853 in Little Falls, Herkimer, NY. He married Mary Perry, daughter of Henry Perry.

Jiles Tourje was born May 5, 1788. He lived in Providence, Saratoga County, and in Little Falls, Herkimer County. He was married but once. His wife's maiden name was Mary Perry, born in 1784. She was the daughter of Henry Perry, who enlisted in the Revolutionary Army at the age of 15 and served three and one-half years. They had seven children; four sons and three daughters. There were: Henry, born 9/25/1810 (one record way 1815, which is probably wrong) at Providence NY. When very young he was adopted by his maternal grandfather and took his name of "Perry" and lived in Ford's Bush, and Newville, Herkimer County, and Brownsville, Jefferson County, until he wad old enough to go to work.

The second child, George W., was born 2/26/1821, at Little Falls, NY; the third, William B., born April 3, 1825, in Herkimer County, and the fourth, Jacob H. born March 28, 1828, Herkimer County. The three girls were probably older than the last three boys. Their names were: Betsey and Lillie, who married and lived near Rochester in 1876; and Anne who married William Switz and lived in Detroit in 1876. William B. was a soldier in the US Army in the Mexican Was and was killed at Jalapa, Mexico in 1847. Jiles Touje was a soldier in the War of 1812. His wife died in 1837. He died at Little Falls, December 22, 1853. The dates of their marriage is unknown. It was probably in Saratoga County.
