Dear Son and Daughter

I received your kind letter a few weaks back. We were very glad to hear from you. Am sorry to hear that your health is so poor and that your leg is bad again. But I hope with the Blefsings of God it will soon be better again. Glad to hear that Jonathan is pretty well at this time. You said he would like to come home again once more. We would love to see you both in England once more. I hope with the Lords help you will be well enough to come. I think my dear if you was well enough and have courage enough to come you mite have your health better. We have very good doctors in Upwell now. Uncel John your fathers brother had a bad leg. Been bad for years. He kept about untill a wile back. The uncel Fisher would have the docter to him. It is a great deal better and he gits after his work again. Your father has very poor health now. In winter it is to could he cant work and in sumer it is to hot. He had to give up work the last weak in October. Never did another day until the second weak in April. Been at home one three weak. Since he is better agin now thank God for it. I am pretty well just now Blefs God. Considering the trouble I am in with the Lofs of your dear sister with 5 dear children and all babes. There father had a great wish for me to have them. He wanted us to live with him but your father would not give his home up so we got him and his children with us. Our baby lived 4 months then the Lord thought well to take it to a better home were it will never now no sorrow nor trouble in this world. theare are 4 now 3 girls 1 boy.

Not I will tell you their names. The oldest a boy Harry 7 years old. The next was a girl Hannar. Only lived 12 weaks. The next a girl Charlotte 4 years old then Cordelia 3 years. Then Cealia 2 years come the 5 of October. The baby was a boy, Grandfather named him pretty Wille. They have got a good father thank God. I find it a great trial but I hope and trust the Lord will inable me to do for them a few years. If their poor mother could only been spared with us a little longer but I hope our Lofs is her gain. I hope no fear but she is gone to heaven were I hope and trust we shall all meet her again. I no one now to speake too only your poor cousen Margret. She is a dear good girl but got a large famalay. That is your Uncels Williams Doughtys daughter. She lives up small load. Her man Beeve has 6 children now. Had a little boy drowned 5 years ol 11 weaks after your poor sister. Your poor uncel has been dead several years. There are only too of them. The yongest Lize about 19 years. A poor Olicat thing just lke her poor father. She is now living with Mifs Charlott Berry and Elizabeth Amm. I suppose there mother is alive someweare. I suppose Hannar told you were she was living with Mr. John Hames on the old farm. Only Master and Mises 2 girls and a groom. Hannar is taking 13 pounds this year. This is her 12 years. She was 26 last Wednesday. She talks of getting married this Michmals and going down the north of England. Then I mite as well buery her for it will be a great chance it ever I see her again but shed getting to them years now she must please herself. He a very steady young and been with her some time.

She rote to her uncel William and James the same time she rote to you. Her letter was gone 6 waks and then returned to her again. Your sister Sarah husband rote to them too about the same time but had no answer. They are boath well thank God. They just come and looked at us on our faire Sunday. Got heare just before dinner. Went home again as soon as tea was over. Polly and her husband and 3 children came to. They was pretty well. They all send theire kind love to you boath. Would like to see you in england once again. It was not a pleasure day when we looke at the dear children and no poor mother. Their was such a grand fair in Upwell as has not been seen their for many years. Their was suposed to be hundreds of people their. Mr. Chapman lent them the field to have their sports in. I shall send you a newspaper. Your Uncel Fisher and poor old Aunt are living pretty well I believe. Dont often see them. Cousan Fisher abnd his wife and famalay are well too. He lives not far from the old farm. Works for Mr. James. His oldest firl is in London service. Once living in Upwell and 4 at home. Cousan Polly keeps the Swan Inn at Ernneth. She has 7 children all small. Buried too. They are well too I believe. Dont often see them. The man I dont know. You wished to knwo about cousan John. I have bad news to tell you. His wife has left him. Gone off with another man. Took what money they had and all the best of her cloaths. People say they are off to America. I not seen him since but I believe he is pretty well.

You wished to know if the Bray brooks were living. They are still living. I should habve rote sooner only I wisher to see them first. They not been hear and I cannot get to them. I hear they are pretty well. They live at North Selph. He works for Mr. Na Booth. The old lady is getting very old and feble. Is over 80 years. Annis married. Got 4 children. Lives close to her mother. I hear they are all pretty well. I am very soory to hear my poor boy Fisher has such bad health. Perhaps if he was in his own country he might be better. But consumson is a family complaint on both sides. Your father buried a cousan since our dear girl been confidned to his bed 4 years. Give our kind to them boathe and our the dear children. I will rite to them soon. Now my dear I hope you will soon rite again and say you are better and be able to come to England. Jonathan would see great alterations. He would hardly now the place again. We not got the railroad yet it bean talked about this last 2 or 3 years. But that servs them. But we have the post ofice and talegraph. I dont know you find many you know. There are a great many of the old people kep droping of. Buried old Mrs. Eakins the other day. Mrs. Wm Mays mother died rather sudden. Quite an ole lady. The Lord nows who may be the next. We are a going to have a grand fishing match on Thursday the 27 of July in the cut from Mr. James Bridge down to the hauckadock. You shall have a paper if I can get one. I think by the time you get this they willbe busy at harvest. I supose the crops look well round heare. Please to escuse all mistakes as the children are round me. One say grandmother who you riting too. The next says grandma what to doing so good by, God Blefs you boath from you loving father & mother.
