Rezin (Reason) Davis (d 1811/1814) lived in NC and served with MD troops during the Rev War. He later moved to SC. Rezin or Reason, the Elder, rec3 Deed 394 acres on Windy Hill, Barnwell District SC 1803, 70 ac. He m. (1) ? then (2) Mrs. Elizabeth (Wood) Causey, widow of Absolem Causey and dau of Solomon & Lucy Wood. Will dated 6-25-1822 probated on 6-6-1814 Chatham Co., GA Rezin Davis of Chatham Co, wife Elizabeth (he does not name children) Executor Elizabeth Davis, Aaron Davis is Asa Davis.

CHILDREN: Only known children-doesn't say which wife: Major Harmon Davis b abt 1738, Van b abt 1740 md. Susannah Cary, William b abt 1742, Reason Jr. abt 1744, Aaron-Asa b abt 1746. Brothers: Brevet Major Harmon Davis: Rev sol. wife Phoebe, second wife; and Clement b 3-27-1755 m. Elizabeth Fleming.

Barnwell District: Know all men by these present that whereas Absolem Causey of Barnwell Dist., lately deceased intestate, possessing at the time of his death certain real estate, having a wife and children, and whereas Elizabeth Causey the widow of sd. Absolum Causey has since intermarried with Rezin Davis and Elizabeth Davis being by law entitled to 1/3 part of the Real Estate of the sd. Absolem Causey know ye that we the sd. Rezin and elizabeth Davis of Beaufort District, SC, do sell the right of 1/3 part of the land granted 21 Nov 1755 to Absolem Causey on Boby's Creek, Orangeburgh Dist., SC, dated 23 June 1807. WILL: date 24 June 1811 probated 6 June 1814 Rezin Davis of Chatham Co., GA, planter: To my beloved wife, Elizabeth, four Negroes; Lacy, Milly, Juno and Peter, with all the former property she was in possession of before marriage. Also the rest of my property to be divided among my heirs and that as equal as they can, only considering what has been received by those that are gone, to be part of the same property. Exec.
