For the past few years, I have been workinbg to develop the lineage of the family"Dexter" , the family"Wenger" , the family"Bates", and the family "Gerrish".These families have been travelling across the U.S., to Honolulu, and for a time in the Philippines.
The Dexter family went from Massachusetts to California , to Honolulu, and to the Philippines. I have been told "across the plains and around the Horn" . I have not formed a proper connection from Richard Dexter(1676-11747) and Sarah Buckman(1680-1761), to William Dexter(1764-1809) and Elizabeth Deering. The next part of the family(James Dexter(1805-1877) and Sarah Hildreth(1823) travelled to California, where James Dexter died in Oakland Calif(1877).Then my overview , show a James (1883)Gloucester married to Rucha Monroe, Franklin Dexter(1870), married Irene Gerrish(1872,Oakland).They had two boys,Leonard and Lloyd. The family went to the Philippine islands, and help develop the Navy base at Cavite Bay. They returned to the Navy Base at Mare Island and then went out to Pearl Harbor Navy base in Hawaii, where they settled in Honolulu. My children have made genealogy exciting with their marriages, where you can take off in hot pursuit of new family lines. There are,, now,, Glancies, Fitsgeralds and Salases. With all the Dexters, it now comes to over 200! There may be some relations out there. Glad to hear from you!
