Years ago, I gave up researching my family tree. Too hard. With all I've seen online I decided to try again. History: the Rafuses are my mother's famiy. Limited information I'm afraid. My grandfather was James L. Rafuse (1899-1978), a bootlegger in the 20's & 30's, albeit not a successful one. He got arrested several times, I'm told. He married Pearl Teston (1900-1977) and went on to have 13 children with her. All I know of my maternal grandparents parents is: Pearl, no known father, mother named Emma or Lou (possibly her grandmother) Teston. James, unknown for both.
The Dial are my father's family: Violus V. Dial, (1905-1978) married Ada Strickland,(1914-) no date on marriage. His father, full-blooded Seminole called Bogey Dial, mother French, name unknown. Ada, parents were Noah Strickland and Maggie Bell.
