Years ago, I gave up researching my family's history and so far I have minimal informaion. After, seeing the different sites online, I'm tying again. The Rafuses are my mother's family (one of 13 children) and the Dial's my father's (one of 9) family. Mother's family history is colorful albeit criminal. My grandfather James L. Rafuse (1899-1978), was a bootlegger in the 20's and 30's, apparently not a successful one, being he was arrested several times. My grandmother Pearl (1900-1977), was a stay at home mother. When their youngest son was in his teens they divorced.

The Dial's are coloful in their genepool, quite a mixture. My grandfather Vilas V. Dial (1905-1977?), was the son of a full-blooded Seminole Bogey Dial, and his french wife, name unknown. My Grandmother Ada, (1924-), is descended from the Stricklands and Bells is all I have been told.
