My name is Elinor Joyce Goes Diercksmeier. My father was Ernest Joseph Goes and his father was Frederick Goes, who came to this country from Wintertur, Switzerland. This is, at least, what I remember. Most of the family has since passed away. My father Ernest has two sisters yet living in the Milwaukee, WI area. These are Isabell and Sybill nicknamed Mookey.
I am continually searching for information on their origins in Switzerland, but as yet, I have been unable to locate proof of when they came to the US.
Frederick Goes and Josephine Eder Goes had 5 children: Isabell (George Wrosch), Leona (Edward Gillian), Ernest (Verna Gronske), Sybill ( Arthur Dann), and Eldor (Betty Forncrooke (?) ).
Isabell had three children: Jacqueline (Jerry w.) Joan (Donald Lay), and Brian Wrosch. Leona had two boys: James and Gary Gillian, both have died. Ernest had one daughter, me. Sybill and Arthur had one son, Denis Dann (Margaret), and Eldor had two sons Michael of Tomahawk, WI (Joy) and Richard of Phoenix, AZ.
