The 48th Annual Dietrich Reunion was held Saturday August 17, 2002 at Shady Grove on the Donald Dietrich farm in Rock Creek, Ohio.



Charles John Deitterick (1834-1897) was born in Wurttemburg, Germany. Charles John left Germany in 1851 because he didn't want to go in the army. Germany had many wars at the time.

He spoke German and taught his children German, but he insisted that they learn the English language as he did. The Germans were very neat and proud of their trades. Charles John was a farmer.

Charles John had a son John (1876-1959) born in Medina County Ohio.

The surname was changed to Dietrich when John began school.

Charles John Dietterick was my great great grandfather.
