About Our Family Research

Have just started researching family information. My mother's (Anaghene Burkleo) maiden name is Baker, her father's mothers maiden name was Mithcell born in Missouri. Her mother's maiden name was Wright. She had six brothers and sisters. Paul Baker, Eula Cook, James Baker,Dorothy Cabral, Elizabeth Clark and William Baker. My father who passed away April 2, 2000 had an interesting background. Dan Burkleo was his name. His mother married several times. His father was also Dan Burkleo. His mother's maiden name was Ruiz. We think his Grandmother's maiden name was either Bell or Castro. His sister is Dorothy Parham. He had a half brother James Littell and a half sister Pearl Littell (this is not her real father's name, she did not know who her real father was). He also has a step-brother who was adopted and his name is NathanWalton.
The only family reunions that we have had were on my mothers side of the family and since a lot of the family has moved away it is hard to have one every year. This is about as much as I have to date on my family although I have heard stories on my mothers side that she had a Grandmother who was full blooded Cherokee. Also had a Grandmother who was abandoned as a child and we think she was of Jewish heritage. Hope I can find some further information about each side.
