This is an effort to compile as much information as possible on the ancestors of my parents, Giles DiMuzio and Nancy Cooney DiMuzio.
Dad's father, Charles (Potito) DiMuzio, came to the U.S. around 1910 from Ascoli Satriano, Italy. Dad's mother, Marie Doyle, was born in Cincinnati in the late 1890s. Her father, Patrick Doyle, came with his family from Ireland in the mid-1860s, while her mother, Anna McGoldrick Doyle, was born in Cincinnati in the late 1860s. Anna's father, Bernard McGoldrick, came to the U.S. from County Fermanaugh, Ireland, probably around 1850. Anna's mother, Annie Sweeny McGoldrick, was born in Ohio around 1840. Her parents, Thomas Sweeny and Bridget McCabe, were Irish immigrants who came to this country around 1835.
Mom's father, Francis Dennis Cooney, was born in Cincinnati in the mid-1890s. Frank's father was Dennis Francis Cooney, who came to this country from County Tipperary, Ireland, with his family around 1850. Frank's mother was Emma Berry, who was born in Cincinnati in the mid-1850s.
