We are researching both my father's and mother's ancestry. We know that my grandmother and grandfather on my father's side emigrated from Montagano, Italy - probably in the early 20th Century. My maternal grandmother was born in the U.S., probably in Orange County (Newburgh), NY. Her side of the family, we are told, traces back to Spain on her father's side, and England on her mother's side. My maternal grandfather was born in Puerto Rico, and his father came to Puerto Rico from Spain.
My father's side originated in Montagano, and the Dizinno name is fairly common there. A number of relatives left Montagano and went to other parts of the world. In the 60's and 70's a few went to Belgium, and we have located a number of them there. We have no information so far on my grandmother's family - Muccino, and even the spelling is tentative. We are requesting original applications for Social Security numbers to see if that information is available.
