North and South Family History of Erinne Kennedy Dock

Updated October 30, 2012

About Our Family Research

My fathers family hails from the north of our country. They include the Clarks, Matthews, Crandalls, Coons, Brewsters, Page, Brainerds, Ackeley and much much more going back to Plymouth Colony. My earliest Ancestor is Fear Brewster Allerton whose family came on the Mayflower. At least 7 of my ancestors in these lines fought in the American revolution

My mothers family comes from the south covering the Hambletts, Kirkseys, Edwards, Worthams, Taliaferro, Townely and Warners. The most illustrious family members could be the Taliaferro family who surveyed the James river area, were members of the House of Burgesses, created some beautiful houses like Powhattan Plantation.

My husbands family are the Docks, who came from Russia (now parts of Moldova and Ukraine) in 1906-1911 escaping the slaughter and persecution of the Jews in various pogroms.

I am now filling in all the blanks in all my family lines, trying to create a series of interesting storie to tell my grandchildren of their family's journey to America, long ago.
