OBIT:
JOHN SLIFE was born in Germany, Nov. 29, 1833, and died of consumption, June 27, 1898, in the town of Newton, Marquette County, Wis., where he was living on a farm with his son.
Mr. Slife had been in feeble health for several years, but was confined to his bed only about three weeks previous to his death.
He leaves a wife and six children to mourn the loss: Amelia, Julius and Will, who live at home , and Mrs. W.C. Wiley, Mrs. Will Brown and Hulda Slife, of Hancock. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Zunth, of Harrisville, preaching. Mr. Slife was a member of the Lutheran Church.
