I have been researching my family history off and one for about five years now. My Father's family is pretty much accomplished because of the research of the Volga/German Historical Society, except for adding newer generations. My Mother's family history has been more difficult because their aren't but a few of the older generations still alive and thus we've lost sources of information about their generations. Plus, my Mother's maternal side of the her family have Native American Indian ancestors and these have been quite difficult to trace and identify. Also, my Mother's Father comes from Ireland and it has been difficult to acquire information about his ancestors. However, I still keep plugging away. Something I have been pleased about is the records I have been able to acquire, such as military registration cards, etc. I have been able to acquire some information through these records which has been helpful.
