Elias Dobson/Dopson b1818,Mo married Harriet McCoy in 1842,had Mary Dobson/Dopson/Dodson in 1846 in NC. Harriet died in1847.Elias entered US Army in 1847 in Galena,Ill and left in 1848. Went to Dodgeville, Wi to secure aid in getting his land papers. Went to Jefferson County, Mo and purchased land in 1849.
He married Louisa Cross(b1819)of TN and had four boys there-William Jefferson(b1850),Jeremiah(1851),John N(b1858) and Frank Alfred(b1858). He left Mo after 1860 and settled in St Clair County, Il as a farmer. He died there in Nov 1872. Louisa, William,Jeremiah and Frank moved to St Louis after 1872. No record for movement of John N. Louisa died in St Louis in 1895, William and Jeremiah died there in St Louis. Frank Alfred married Annie Webb in St Louis and had ten children there(Harry b1887,Joseph b1889, Oliver b1893, Charles F b1895, Elizabeth b1896, Harriet b1899, May b1902, William b1905, Raymond b1908, and Mildred b 1911. I am Joseph Dopson b1928 from Mrg of William and Lillian Erdmann. There is only one male from the above tree to carry the Dopson/Dobson name and that is Kyle Dopson b1992 from my son Mitchell Dopson. Looking for furter roots to this tree.
