The Hand Family of New Jersey Updated March 15, 2003
About Our Family Research
This is the first family research I have begun. Family reunions have generally been at weddings and funerals or 50th wedding aniversary parties. I have an aunt, Lydia Elizabeth Hand Kearns, who is now 91 or 92 who has been the family historian. There were 4 sisters in the family, Bette, Helen, Dorothea, and Lydia mentioned above. There were 2 brothers, Samuel, and Woodruff that were the children of my grandmother, Elizabeth Fort Hand. My grandfather was Woodruff T. Hand. Both Woodruff T. Hand, and Elizabeth Fort Hand were born in NJ somewhere in the mid to late 1800's.
