Narcisse Dorion married 1831 to Cecile Rupertsland (Manitoba). Narcisse Dorion, a voyageur, first came into Assiniboise in 1827 and married Cecile. In 1834 they had a daughter Mary and by 1841 Narcisse, his wife Cecile and young Daughter Mary, made their epic canoe journey to the east, settling in Mattawa at the junction of the Ottawa and Mattawa rivers. (1st marriage not by church)

(records of Missions 6) Both Narcisse and son confirmed 1864 (Mattawa Mission record) The Mattawa House (a fur trading post) was already in existence in 1837, so it is possible that the place was a Mission. There is a hotel nowadays called the Mattawa House. Cecile Mawiskak McDonnell was from the Saulteux indians (cree). Narcisse Laurion Dorion-Elizabeth Glisson Narcisse (Laurion) Dorion, Born 1836 in Quebec, at the age of 35 he lived and farmed Deux-Riviers Ont. Married Eliza Glisson, Born 1835 Ireland, Both of catholic faith. Narcisse Dorion died 1872 and buried at St. Ann's cemetery Mattawa Ont. After his death Eliza Dorion (Glisson) re-married Joseph Branconier 1872. Deux-River is about 25 miles east of Mattawa. There is a township called Mattawan as well: a few miles north of Mattawa. The Mattawa river was named Mattawouain or La Petite Riviere. Some of the Dorion lived in Deux-Rivieres at one time. There is a small place near Deux-Riviers that was called Rockcliff away back then, it is called Stonecliff now. I think some Dorion may be buried there as well. Their Children are::
