Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
The Dorsches came from Germany (perhaps Bavaria) and appeared first in the United States, as far as I know, in Newark, New Jersey, where they owned a shoe company on Broad Street. There were two girls and five boys, including my father, Arthur. The oldest, Emma, died young; Four of the children -- Julia, Emil, Arthur and Harold -- all died in New Jersey. Carl lived in the Maryland area and died in a car accident, while Edgar moved away, and he and his family were not heard of again.
