I, Samuel Fuqua of Charlotte County, of perfect health, mind, & memory, but calling to mind the mortality of my body

To my wife Hannah Fuqua - slaves Vall, Harey, and old Jude, for her lifetime. After her death, said slaves to be sold, and the money to be equally divided between all my children.

To my daughter Anne Fuqua - slaves Charles, Nell, Sam, Liddy, and Renshall.

To my daughter Tabitha Fuqua - Kelep, Winny, Cane, Luce, and Jude daughter of Old Jude.

To my daughter Catherine Fuqua - slaves John, Will, Nance, Fan, & old Jim.

To my daughter Hanty - Jim, Emy, Jenny, Abram, & Mill.

To my daughter Francis Fuqua - slaves Obey, Doll, Mary, Isaac, & Squier.

To my son Samuel Fuqua - slaves Tom, Cate, Morris, Ben, and Old Sam, together with a tract of land bounded by Staunton River at the mouth of Wolf Trap [Creek?], Joseph Fuqua, Coles Ferry Road, Seth Wards Road, Neeleis line, the edge of the low ground upon Staunton.

The rest of my land and the rest of my estate, consisting of household goods, debts, & moveable effects to be sold, the money to be equally divided between my daughters Anne, Tabitha, Catherine, Hanty, and Francis Fuqua, and paid to them by my executors on the day of their marriage or as soon as they reach age 21 years.

Executors: my wife Hannah Fuqua, Thomas Mackey, Joel Watkins, William Morton, and Joseph Morton.

At Charlotte County Court of Jan 4, 1790, the will of Samuel Fuqua dec'd was exhibited in court by Thomas Mackey, one of the executors, and proved by the oaths of witness William Hubard. At Feb 1, 1790 court, the will was further proved by the oath of Cornelius Coyle, and OR. Said executor was granted a certificate for obtaining probate; William Hubard, Richard M Booker, John Fuqua, & Joseph Fuqua were his securities. Liberty is reserved to the other executors to join in the probate when they shall think fit.
