Captain Alexander(1)Fleming was born about 1612, Larnock, Scotland. He is said to come to Virginia 1649-1650. Alexander Fleming patented 5790 acres between 1658-1667 on both sides of the Rappahannock River.

He married, first in Scotland about 1631, Elizabeth (Elspet) Anderson, daughter of William Anderson. "Alexander Fleming died between 30, December, 1668 and 13 March, 1668-9 in Rappahannock County, Virginia."
