William Clyde Slaughter married Clara Maebell McCulley, May 24, 1925, in Benton, Missouri.

Clara's parents were Ulysses McCulley and Rosa Bell Phelps. Ulysses was born May 1866, and Rosa was born Septeber 1866, both in Illinois. Ulysses's parents were William, born abt 1825 in Ohio, and Mary A. McCulley, born abt. 1827 in Tennesse. From the 1880 Federal Census of Hamilton County, Il., Ulysess, also called Ulice, had, possibly two brothers, Stephen and Logan, and one sister, Mary.

William's parents were William Jasper Slaughter and Hattie( or Hettie) V. House. William J. was born September 07, 1869, in Tennesse and Hattie was born in 1881. Both were dead by the time William Clyde was only 9/10 years old and are buried in the Glenwood Cemetery, Pike County, Glenwood, Arkansas. Along with his younger brother, James Calvin, was placed in a Masonic Boy's Home, by their grandfather, Wilson Chambers Slaughter. Wilson Slaughter, b. November 19, 1849 Moscow, Fayette, Tennessee, married Frances A. Sullivan, b. November 19, 1850, and had seven mor children, Samuel, Jociah, Newton, Cora, Edward, James, and Zora. With help of others, I have the Slaughter family going back another four more generations.
