Ruth Brantley Douglas was the daughter of Smith Winston Brantley and Madeline (Maddie/Mattie) Brantley Brantley. It is not a mistake that Brantley appears twice for Madeline. Smith Winston's parents were Joshua B. and Martha (Patsy) Brantley and Madeline's parents were Mack and Minerva Ann Brantley. Joshua and Mack were brothers and sons of Sherwood (Sherrod) Brantley. Their family vine goes back to 1227 and can be researched through the Brantley Association.
Howard Milner Douglas was the son of Howard and Elizabeth (Bessie) Milner Douglas of Macintosh, Alabama. One sibling survived, Lillian Douglas VanHoose. As soon as I have a chance I will put the Milner connection here also. The only "connection" that I am missing is the family of Howard Douglas (the father). I have been told that his mother was a Smith from Virginia who was a doctor but that is only hearsay. I am looking for information about this line and I would appreciate any information anyone can give me.
