The Kleckley & Roberts Connections of Lexington, SC
Updated June 4, 2003

|
These two families are linked through several other lines. Interest in the Kleckley Family History began seriously with the First Kleckley Reunion which was eventually held every year on the land which was a land grant from the King of England to this German man, named Johanne and his three sons, Johanne, Ludwig and Godfrey. This interest began in 1947 or 48 and continues to the present time. In this time there has only been two Family Historians, Clayton B. Kleckley and L. H. Buff. The Roberts Family history and connections came from a very informative book by Mrs. Mary Frances Roberts Clark titled Roberts Homesteads. Several more generations of these Roberts and Kleckley kin are available now. There is still some information about the origin of Solomon Roberts and also Johannes Kleckley that has not been verified. Lots of work still needed for this.
