I am researching the PARADINE family. The information I have to date is sketchy, however, I know that my Great Grandfather John PARADINE emigrated to Australia from England sometime before 1886. I am told that he came out to Australia with his brother Tom (Thomas ?) when they were 11 and 14 years old. John married Sarah Mc GEE in 1886. Sarah was born in 1862 in Queensland to John and Ann (NOEL) Mc GEE. John and Sarah went on to have 12 children but only raised four to adulthood. Sarah died in 1926 and John remarried Annie Auguste BADE in 1927.The information I have for a Thomas PARADINE in Australia is a marriage to Susannah TIMMS. Susannah parents were Sirius and Ann (HEARN) TIMMS. Susannah died in 1915. Iam not sure of how many children they had but do know they had Annie Louisa in 1876 and Thomas Charles in 1879, both born in Queensland. There was also an Edward who died in 1933 and Alice who died in 1912. Thomas possibly married Emily Catherine DICKENS in 1918. Thomas died in 1933 and his parents are listed as Percy and Jane (BULL) PARADINE.
I am also trying to trace information on my Great Great Grandfather, George Harris Westley HOOPER. He was born 25 October 1850 in Washington D.C.. Legend has it that he was an Indian scout and worked with Colonel William Cody (Buffalo Bill). George came to Australia sometime in the early 1880's. He married Grizzilde ROLLAH in Hay, New South Wales in 1881. At this time he listed himself as a widower and his occupation was recorded as an Actor. Grizzilde was listed as a widow and her profession was an Actress. George remarried again in 1884 to my Great Great Grandmother, Maud Mary ALZANO. Once again he classified himself as being a widower, however, no death records can be found for Grizzilde. One of those little mysteries that makes family history research all the more exciting.
George and Maud went on to have four children, William Frederick Westley b. 1888 d. 1948; Augustine Leslie b. 1890 d. 1958; Alice Maud Catherine b. 1891 d. 1893; John Walls Bamford b. 1892 d. 1926.
I would love to hear from anyone who may have information pertaining to these families. I would also be more than willing to share any information that I may have to aide in your research.
