Drakes and DeVores were amoung the first settelers in the upper deleware River region.

They arrived around 1680, the deVores and Drakes are rumored to have inter married with the indiginous deleware -Lenni-Lenape tribes.

my father was the greatest man I ever met in my life.
He was a war hero (wwwii) and after expierencing what happens to poor boys in war time he came home to oppose segeration, and his family's own involvement with the KKK!
My mom was the Catholic girl he loved!She was the best!
I miss them and all my relatives begore my generation with the exception of my aunt Mary who willbe another year older on April 1st she was born in 1917, is dead!
