About Our Family Research

Jacob Drafts, born in Germany, ca.1715-20. Petition for land grant dated March 16, 1744, stated that he and his wife, and four children arrived about two months ago on Captain brown's ship "The St. Andrew." refer--S.C. Archives--Royal council Journal Vol. 14, page 137. Microfilm Records of the U.S., council Journals, 1744-1748. E-1p, roll 3, US-9. Jacob was killed by Indians on March 10, 1760. Refer--S.C. Gazette, March 15, 1760. (LGE 2-3, Page 119). Buried in unmarked grave near intersection of Center Dr.& Glenkirk Rd. off corley Mill Rd. on land of Orginial grant. Wife and others probably buried nearby.
