Since 1976 I have researching my family history - both my father's and my mother's families. Both families came from the British Isles and settled in Philadelphia, PA. I have traced my paternal grandmother's family through her mother's family, the SANDS. I am still trying to find information on her father, ANTHONY LOFTUS, who was born in Ireland about 1847 and emigrated to Philadelphia in 1864. He entered the Port of New York.
Currently I am researching my MITCHELL ancestors. I have gotten as far back as my Great, great grandfather, Thomas Mitchell, of Philadelphia. I believe his father was John Mitchell of Philadelphia, but lack proof.
