Family research began at the D'Souza/Rocha Reunion in
Mississauga, Ontario for the celebration of George and Imelda Gonsalves' Ruby Wedding Anniversary. This was attended by the largest gathering of D'Souza/Rocha and satellite family members in North America (to my knowledge), with members coming all the way from Africa,
Asia and Europe for the occasion!
Uncle George and Aunt Imelda's ACTUAL Ruby (40th) Wedding Anniversary was on February 5, 1997, but had to be celebrated in
May 1997 due to scheduling and logistics involved in such a huge
undertaking.
This was my very first meeting and, in most cases, actual
knowledge of family relatives, including cousins' existences
and with the help of my Godmother, Lavita Fernandes, I was
able to compile a rough draft of our family tree. I finally got around to making a better draft on paper in early 2001 and
using software provided by my new parents-in-law, entered
the data into a Family Tree program suitable for editing -
entry and retreival of information about our family tree.
A week later I discovered that it was in fact quicker for me to
use Genealogy.com to set up this homepage and hopefully make our
family tree easily accessible to everyone via the internet. Please
inform me of any inaccuracies so that I can correct them and help
me with any missing or incomplete information.
