I am Beverley du Cloux nee Withers a great,great granddaughter of William and Susannah Withers whose son William Wesley married to Mary Wills nee Hunt along with their 5 children emigrated from Gravesend, England to Port Chalmers, Otago, New Zealand abroad the James Nicol Flemming ship on 4th May 1875. George, their youngest son was 4yrs old. George is my Grandfather.
George had 2 older brothers William and Walter who disappeared from our family history after 1880 - the myth is they went to Australia. I would be interested to hear of anyone who thinks they may be connected.
William and Susannh had other children -
Ebenezer b 1828 who married a Sarah from Ireland and they had 2 children, Ebenezer 2yrs and Edward 1yr at the 1841 Census.
Josiah Gaulter b 1834 Middlesex England who married Charlotte ? b 1834, Middlesex, England and they had 3 children Josiah William b 1856 Middlesex, Charlotte b 1888 Middlesex, and Susan b 1861 Middlesex according to the 1861 census.
4 daughters Susannah b 1830, Mary b 1838, Martha b 1840 and Elizabeth b 1848. We are not sure whether any of these married.
