About Our Family Research

This is an attempt to create an ancestry tree for my family. Most information is believed to be true, and some is documented. My family has many unknown fascist, and has lost the translations of many of the surnames from the original spellings.
My surname of Dumas is from a spelling believed to be Dmuchowski.
My fatherís father was Jacko or Jacobi Dmuchowski, and his mother was Julia Rybak or possibley Rebbeci.
My mother maiden name was Tresh and believed to be spelled either Trysz or Trisz. Her father was Michael Tresh, and her mother was Mary Stefanski.
This is an attempt to give some genealogy to my children and document my familyís ancestry. Much of the information I have follows the Tresh line. Some extra information that can not be captured in the tree, is that we know that the Tresh family came from Ycmerko, Ukraine. They left Ukraine and lived in Hungary. After become citizens of Hungary, the came into the United States via Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. We also believe that Michael and Maria (Stefanski)Tresh were married February 4, 1913 in Hazleton, PA. I hope to grow the tree to its fullest potential. Hope you enjoy the site and if at all possible hope it helps for your ancestry too.
