Coulters of West Virginia and McLaughlins of Balt. Maryland

Updated December 10, 2012

About Our Family Research

I descend from my 5th great grandfather John Coulter (born circa 1750 in PA). He migrated to the Greenbrier Valley Va, what would later become WV. I have done quite a lot of research on this family and have met lots of cousins along the way. Would love to share of exchange info on the colorful Coulters!

My other less successful family research includes the extended family of my great grandfather, James Jeremiah McLaughlin. James was born 1850 in Donegal Co.Ireland and immigrate to the US via the port of Baltimore about 1865. James had an older brother, Patrick who lived in Baltimore and I have had some luck finding his descendants. Another brother, Thomas also came to the US but I have had no luck with him and 2 sisters, Mary and Annie also came over and I found them but neither of them had children. I am still actively attempting to trace my McLaughlins back to Ireland.
