The Parker family of Houston Co. Texas is my father's side of the family. Although his last name is not Parker he is indeed a Parker by blood. John Wilson Parker fathered 2 sons with his love Concepcion Mata Burciaga. John was in a legal marriage at the time so when they had my father john wilson his name was not put on the birth certificate. This happened alot in the early 1950's. Years later it was the name given to Billie Winston another son. Its sad that John's legal wife and all his children knew of their 2 half brothers but never spoke. All these years later and the family generations know of all this. That is how it goes. Now I myself and a cousin from John's other children's line have come together in hopes of uniting the family for generations to come. We have been in search of the truth for many years and have come so far. Our findings are that the family line is of Joseph A Parker aka Josephus and Joe. Josephus and Joe were common nicknames in the 1800's for Joseph. There has been no exact birth date to date but it has been proven he died Aug. 20,1875 in TEXAS. Joseph gave service in the Texas Republic Army and in the Civil war. He was granted land for his services. He left a long lasting legacy in Houston County Texas that will stay forever. The family cemetery on Parker owned property in the Parker-Jones School House Cemetery outside of Crockett. His son Ben Parker deeded the land for a family cemetery in 1915. Families and friends buried are: Grounds,Allen,Johnson, and many others.
