Dunn family in ecuador

Updated November 26, 2000

About Our Family Research

The first Dunn in Ecuador was Andrew Dunn Heart, at the beginning of the 20th century. We're not sure if he came from Lima, Perú; or if he came directly from Scotland with his father and brother. What we surely know is that he came to build the railroads. He married a girl whose last name was Maquilón and they lived in the city of Riobamaba. From this marriage descended Alex Dunn Maquilón, who lived in Guyaquil. He married Judith Barreiro and prospered in the pharmaseutical business. Then, when the importation of medicines was forbitten, he starte to sell MacKinlay Scotch whiskey. He was father of John, Robert, and Henry Dunn Barreiro.

I'd really would like to know more about the scotch part of the family and confirm the real origins of Andrew Dunn Heart
