McConnell. A popular name in Ohio. My family originates in Ireland, and my branch is still growing in Central Ohio. I've done very little research. I contribute the majority of my information to my older brother and all his hard work pouring over books and documents in old libraries etc. I have discovered a few things though. My branch of the McConnell family is not on the internet (until now). However, the tree is there. I've also come to the conclusion that at least 2 (maybe more) McConnell brothers came to the United States from Ireland and many of their descendants have identical names. Maybe they did this to confuse us! So my great aunt might be your grandmother but my great-great grandmother will have the same name as your grandmother! I noticed another interesting thing. Some of the children in a branch will have a middle name that is the same as their aunt's maiden name or uncle's last name. This makes it all more confusing!
