Lawrence and Alice (maiden name, CARR)Dunn, both of Ireland. We know that one of their sons was Michael who immigrated to Canada in either 1832, or 1842. The first date was stated as true, but newer information disputes this original date. From information our family starts with a Michael Dunn,(1821-1910?), from Hays,(Spelt that way...is outside the town of Navan on the old road to Drogheda), County Meath, Ireland who marries a Catherine Going, (1828-97), from Wexford County, Ireland. Came to Canada in 1842. Married in 1844 and where they were married is unknown, but thought to be in the Oxford County, Ontario, UPPER-CANADA region, at this time. They lived in North Oxford, and know they died in Ingersoll, and were Catholics at Sacred Heart Church, and buried at that cemetery in Ingersoll. We have census records that place them as farming near the town of Ingersoll, and later retiring in the town. When their daughter Mary died in February, 1883, two of her chidren, Thomas Burns and Mary Jane Burns were staying with their grandparents Michael and Catherine.
Their children were as follows...
-Lawrence Dunn, (1848-1941), born in , marries - Alice Olmstead,(1856-1942). children: as per below
